Do you know who your ideal client is?

Do you actually know who your dream client is? Or are you trying to appeal to everyone?

Defining who your ideal clients are, is extremely important in any business but particularly in the beauty/nail industry.

The reason we need to know who our ideal clients are, is so that we can tailor our services to suit who we want to attract to our business. By doing this you will ultimately gain more clients and retain your regulars in this range.

It is actually pretty impossible to appeal to everyone. If you are doing this then you are going to run yourself ragged trying to make sure your services meet everyones needs.

By narrowing down who you want to attract into your business you will then go on to attract the people and clients that you love to have. This makes great business sense and will enable you to refine your menu to truly suit your clients.

So to work out who your ideal client is you need to do a few things first. You need to ask yourself some questions and be brutally honest with your answers.

You need to go through the following questions:

Who is your ideal client?

  • Are they male or female?
  • What age are they?
  • Do they have children?
  • Are they married or single?

What can you help them with?

  • What are their concerns?
  • What do they need you to do for them?
  • What are they interested in?
  • What benefits do you give them?

Where do they spend their time?

  • Where do they live?
  • What areas do they hang out? beach, cafe, pub,etc
  • What social media do they use?
  • Where can they find you

Then there are questions as to when, why and how. 

When - can they contact you, availability, work hours etc.

Why - why choose you, what problem can you solve for them, why do they need you more than another tech, why did you start your business.

How - How can they find you, how to contact you, Is it easy to buy from you, how are you going to reply to them etc.

Once you have answered these questions you will begin to get a picture of who you want to attract into your business. You can then begin to market your business to those types of clients and those types of clients only. You will find that once you start targeting your specific type of person and stop trying to attract everyon, you will have way more success in your salon.
